Documents released online Thursday include four conversations between the 2019 US president and a woman who claims Jeffrey Epstein molested her as a child in the 1980s.
Epstein affair: FBI reports on sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump released by the US Department of Justice
The documents released online on Wednesday include the content of four interviews in 2019 between agents and a woman who said the President of the United States was hurt and Jeffrey Epstein himself when he was a child in the 1980s.
The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday, March 5, released federal law enforcement (FBI) documents describing a 2019 interview related to unsubstantiated accusations brought against Donald Trump by a woman in connection with the Epstein affair.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer last week announced the Trump administration's "massive disclosure" of documents from Jeffrey Epstein's agency, warning the Justice Department against any destruction of evidence.
In a statement published on social media, the Department of Justice said that the summaries of the interviews were initially removed from the millions of pages of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation released in January because they were considered to duplicate other documents that already exist.
The woman was interviewed four times in 2019
According to documents released Thursday, the FBI interviewed the woman four times between July and October 2019, while Donald Trump was serving his first term as U.S. president. In each of these interviews, the woman, whose identity is concealed in the documents, made allegations of sexual assault against Jeffrey Epstein.
During her second questioning by federal investigators, the financier took her to New York and New Jersey, where he introduced her to Donald Trump, when she was between the ages of 13 and 15. She said Trump sexually assaulted her during that trip, the report said. The woman declined to provide more information about the alleged relationship, according to a publicly released summary.
His statements to federal agents indicate that the assault took place in the early to mid-1980s, during which time Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump were not involved. The president of the United States, who was once close to the financier and traveled in the same circles, has always denied any knowledge of his criminal behavior and claims to have split with him before his legal troubles.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt on Friday denied "completely baseless allegations, based on no evidence, of a troubled woman with an extensive criminal record."
