Forget the 13th university, its successor has returned the card and entered the field of high-end phones, but it does not have

One does a 10 degree turn and one does a 15. It abandoned almost everything that gave it its identity for the first time with the movie.

This new model, which shares a family resemblance with its cousin, the Find

To achieve this goal, it has an advanced technical sheet ("Tri-Chip" architecture, the first 15 horse screen in the 8 elite market and a 7300 mAh battery.

On paper, the OnePlus 15 is a monster. But does this radical choice to focus on pure power come with certain sacrifices?

Like the X9 Pro found before it, OnePlus makes a big aesthetic change from 15 to 15, ditching the usual curves for a more angular format and its central rotating unit normalized to the left. The choice is definitely divided, but it is clear that, despite some ergonomic regressions, it is accompanied by a very high level of production quality.

Giving up the curved screen for a completely flat 6.78-inch panel is a practical decision.Already, this format is more suitable for gaming, as it eliminates the display areas lost in curves. And that's a good thing, because the OnePlus 15 is firmly focused on performance. It then facilitates the use of protection despite the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass (and the flexible film attached at the factory). Finally, the cost of replacing a disc in case of breakage is less than the cost of rotation.

And OnePlus has optimized the immersion offered by its displays well, because it uses very thin bezels of 1.15mm that are made even on all four sides thanks to LIPO technology (Low Injection Pressure Overmolding), which eliminates the traditionally thicker bottom edge.

Three colors are offered and each uses a different material:

- Infinity Black: This 215g, 8.2mm version uses matte finish glass to resist fingerprints.

- Ultra Violet: same dimensions, it includes a double layer optical coating whose reflection changes from violet to sapphire depending on the light.

- Sand storm: Lighter (211 grams) and slightly thinner (8.1mm), this finish includes fiberglass composite backpanel and frame treated with micro-arc oxidation (MAO) which is claimed to be 1.3 times stronger than titanium.

I tested the black model and I have to admit that its matte back feels very good in the hand.Of course, switching to a straight edge design shows its ergonomic limits. The large screen size makes handling this format difficult, so you miss out on the convenience of the curved design of previous generations.

In turn, the chassis shows maximum durability with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications. It resists immersion up to 2 meters for 30 minutes and high-pressure jets up to 80°C.

Funsari funity, matte black back has a soft effect and you can use it as a reminder by writing on it, for example.Underneath the satisfying water you will find, for example, your shopping list.LIFE AND WORK, BUT GOOD.And of course this is not prepared for this Oneplus.

Look for the new photo a little higher on the back. Its own signature in the square with rounded corners and square, similar to that of competitors. In addition, it signals that the imbalance of the device is returned to the horizontal position. On the other hand, we appreciate the alignment of the targets at a 45 degree angle to the objectives.Surgical treatment.

One big break should be noted: the alert slider is gone, replaced by a programmable button, which will disappoint regulars, but also offers more flexibility.

OnePlus 15 slightly reduces its diagonal. We go to 6.78 inches. An insignificant loss of 0.04 inches... but apart from that, we completely change our identity.

This is the first 1.5hk 165hz display in the mobile market. The fact that it does not open a new level for mobile researchers, the OnePlus 13, which can 120 Hz.And the refresh rate is a priority for this smartphone, since the definition has also been reduced, going from QHD to Full HD + (1272 x 2772 pixels. Competitors will not see anything to complain about, since the advantage is increased here. And then independence can be favorable by reducing this definition.

Likewise, OnePlus has added a touch sampling rate of 3200 Hz, while its competitors best is 2400 Hz. This results in imperceptible lag in games.

As always, we are equipped with AndPlus 15 monitors and our camera connections in our home.

First observation, we have only a very small improvement in maximum brightness.Whether in SDR or HDR, we always shoot for 1150-1200 nits, not 1800 nits as the OnePlus sells. We noticed the same thing with the Oppo Find X9 Pro, a close cousin of the OnePlus 15. It is surprising, because the rest of the high-end market rises higher. There we can risk a lack of light outside (under the sun).

|One Plus 15 ||

|DeltaE moyen (SDR) |2.63 |

|Those cold |

|Maximum brightness (SDR) |6649K |

|sRGB |149 % |

|Dci-p3 |100% |

|Average Delta (HDR) |5.98 |

|Maximum brightness (HDR) |1215 nits |

Too bad, because the rest of the score is beautifully performed.Of the three colorimetric modes offered, the Vivid mode is the nicest. It offers an average DeltaE of 2.63 in SDR and 5.98 in HDR.

It is better than the OnePlus 13 and above all we go below the reference bars. The OnePlus 15 has a fair and natural colorimetry, a good point. The same applies to the color temperature, not too warm and not too cold, we have a fairly accurate white point. And the color spaces are well covered. If the brightness was higher, it would be a masterclass.

Every year, manufacturers also warn us about the most powerful lies. But let's be honest, the ending is a little slow after 10 minutes of love like the one recently available on the x9 pro.

With the OnePlus 15, the promise is not only kept, but it is exceeded.Let's be honest: it's a monster.During our tests, he set up the device itself as the second most powerful smartphone we had in our hands. Before him?Redmagic 11 Pro, 100% gaming smartphone that is less versatile and above all suffers from heavy trotting.Because raw power is good, but constant power is much better. And this is where the OnePlus 15 hits very hard.

The Magic Formula: "Tri-Chip" Architecture

To achieve this result, OnePlus didn't halve things. You no longer have to just add the latest popular SoC.The manufacturer designed what it calls "advanced tri-chip architecture" (OP Performance Tri-Chip).

The brains of the operation?All-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.

To support this monster, OnePlus threw the fastest RAM in the pot at the moment (LPDDR5X Ultra+ at 10,667 Mbps at 16 GB).But power is not everything. As mentioned above, the "Tri-Chip" also includes a chip designed for tactile feedback.

The G2's dedicated Wi-Fi chip and internal CPU manager (OnePlus CPU Technology) complete this arsenal to ensure a stable connection and optimal resource allocation, OnePlus says.

Excellent 120 HZ Oled screen, technology A19 Meta A19 and compatibility: iPhone 17 with 16 GB of storage costs 849.99 euros on Rakuten.

In Game: 165 GHz?Not easy, never slow

All of this arsenal sounds great on paper, but what does it look like with a smartphone in hand?

As a character, he is a monster. With Orion cores and Adreno 840 GPU running up to 4.6GHz, graphics and compute performance are dramatically improved.

Based on our results, we have +21% GPU performance and +17% CPU performance.

During our intense sessions on compatible games like Call of Duty Mobile or Real Racing 3, the fps counter remained stuck at 165 fps.And that's even after an hour of continuous gaming.Warning: it's a bit of a fiddle. You have to dive into OnePlus' Game Center to manually enable the Hyper Frame Rate option to take advantage of it.

The phone also comes with an impressive "Pro Gamer Mode" and "Hyper HDR" (apparently this hurts the battery).

Real miracles: hold on

And beyond its raw power, the real trick of the OnePlus 15 is its controllability. There is almost no throttle.

The Cryo-Velocity 360° system is not just marketing. It combines a steam chamber of 5,731 mm² with a major innovation: the Aerogel screen cooler.

The result is immediate: no heat from the SoC is transferred to the screen. The transmission on the chassis is excellent.Translation? You will never burn your fingers and the parts will stay cool.

One of them is recording Android 16 with Oxygen 16. The new type of integration in his home.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 ranks 5th in the 5th place after 5th place, and this system supports its power due to continuous progress. This system harnesses the power of SOS in slippery conditions. It's true that the Internet can be abused, and it's not a little hot.For example, opening and closing programs are locked, and for example (yes, it is not needed), it does not make any sense.

OxygenOS 16 is also a reskin strongly inspired by Apple's Liquid Glass that can be found in the system's biometric sensor or search bar. However, the transparency button is more discreet than on iOS.

A travel option appears. Carsick mode displays dots on the screen to track vehicle movements and allow you to consult your phone without inducing motion sickness.

Overall, OxygenOS 16 doesn't lose OnePlus' philosophy of providing a clear, refined and functional Android interface. It is full of options, but they are not thrown in front of the user, but well organized in the device menus.

As for spam, there are only five of them: Netflix, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn.If that's still too much, choosing at least has the advantage of being able to share the apps you currently use frequently.

Finally, OnePlus' update policy is not very generous: 4 years of major updates and 6 years of security updates. For such a powerful device, we would like something more.

Let's tackle another part of OxygenOS 16: its AI functions.

And we need to start with a new button that replaces the slider on the left side of the device. It gives you access to Mind Space, a memory space as its name suggests. It is usually modeled after Nothing's Essential Space.

This is an area that can gather all the recordings, ideas, screenshots, pictures we have/take during the day.The system analyzes content to suggest contextual actions. For example, if you take a picture of a concert poster and press the plus button, the OnePlus 15 will automatically extract the date and time and prompt you to add it to your calendar.Be careful, we still have translation hiccups.

The little extra about Mind Space is that it deeply integrates Google Gemini.Goole LLM can access the information recorded in Mind Space and combine it with your data to get personalized responses and a near-perfect symbiosis, because when you talk to Gemini, it takes into account your history recorded in Mind Space. The more we feed this space, the more precise and personalized the interaction with Gemini will be.

Please note that the operations are carried out in the cloud in a secure environment. It ends with GPU and CPU end-to-end encryption in this area.

Together with Mind Space we find the AI functions already known in OnePlus:

- Audio recorder: The audio recorder can record meetings and interviews, distinguish different speakers and create summaries.

- AI Portrait Glow: This feature corrects underexposed or overexposed portraits and automatically enhances highlights and shadows to give subjects a natural glow.

- AI Scan: Lets you convert physical documents, images or even whiteboards into clean, distortion-free PDFs.

- AI Playlab: Offers early access to experimental AI features like Yumsee (for menu translation) and PARTY (for video creation).

In a separate article, I first compared the 15 and its close cousin, the X9 Pro, so I'll cover that part more briefly here.

To go further

OPPO Nemo X9 Pro vs

OnePlus bids farewell to Hasselblad for the new OnePlus 15, Banking Everything at Home AI: engine.

To replace the prestige of Hasselblad, OnePlus is banking on a solid spec sheet and a new software brain.OnePlus 15 is built around three sensors:

- Main: 50 Mpx, Sony IMX906 (1/1.56 inch), f/1.8, OIS.

- Telephoto lens: 50 Mpx, S5KJN5 (periscopic design), f / 2.8, OIS.

- The Ultra Wide-TheLe: 50 MPX, Ov50D, F / 2.0, with autofocus for macro.

But the real star, according to the brand, is the DetailMax Engine, a set of in-house algorithms that it claims deliver "unparalleled clarity and realism."

"DetailMax Engine": ¿IA universal?

The lumo engineer from OPO stands on three pillars.Ultra-clear 26 mpx combines 12 mpx (active type) and 50 mpx (resolution) images to predict taste.White Break promises 10 free packages

Finally, the machine uses light night technology (dag) technology for "wet, better and better night photos".On paper, the equivalent 15 is ready for all situations.

The field report: zoom

The problem is the telephoto lens. The 50 Mpx periscope module has an incredible native optical rate of x3.5, providing a very clear image with an extraordinary level of detail in daylight.

However, performance drops quickly.OnePlus promises 7x “optical quality” zoom. However, our analysis shows that at this level, images become noticeably softer, based on simple digital cropping. As for the Ultra Res 120x digital zoom, it is not very available. In our testing, text at x60 was already an unreadable mess of pixels.

Weakness in low light

The promise of the Clear Night Engine hits the hardware limitations of the telephoto lens. With an aperture of f/2.8, darker than some competitors, the sensor struggles to capture light. In difficult conditions, it has to quickly increase in ISO (up to ISO5000 at x3.5), which generates visible noise.

The result: Digital zoom images at night are dark, noisy, and almost unusable.

Real advancements in video and selfies

The OnePlus 15 makes up for it in other areas.Front camera, Sony Sony IMX709 sensor, finally of Autofocus. At night, a very large software addition is useful: The face becomes brighter, the noise is smoother. It is an art "art" technique, but it is successful and shared.

In video, Oneplus 15 is one of the first Android smartphones with Dolby VisiD HDR in 4K 120 FPS.It combines professional tools such as introductory recording (O-LOG) and the first live preview of the lute.Add to this the underwater mode and together with the customized JIS offerings and Onepl 15 positions itself as a tool for creating the best video content.

All in all, the 15 twins are all pictures, beautiful in every way, but none of them. While everything is focused on photography in the X9 Pro, the OpPo, its cousin gives priority to its cousin but does not allow the photo when there is a photo.

OnePlus 15 has stereo speakers. They work well.Nothing special to complain about.

It is interesting in Bluetooth because it supports Bluetooth 6.0 and a wide selection of codecs: SBC, AAC, LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LHDC 5.0.With compatible headphones or earphones, aptX Adaptive is ideal for reducing sound delay, which is an essential point for gaming.

Network and communication OnePlus 15

We are dual SIM and eSIM eligible.OnePlus 15 is compatible with 5G networks.

On the Wi-Fi side, as mentioned above, it has a dedicated Wi-Fi 7 chip.A decision by the Chinese manufacturer to make the connection as reliable as possible. And the OnePlus 15 is well equipped to take photos in difficult places.Compared to an iPhone 17 Pro Max, it achieves better WiFi speeds when the network is compromised, as I experienced on my own network. And then it manages to capture more, more walls or floors than its competitors.

What good is alloplus power if it closes early?

Fortunately, forget worries at the end of the day.

With a recording capacity of 7300 mAh, it is definitely the most powerful battery ever on Onlus.

Our tests confirm it: this smartphone is a marathon runner who refuses to tire.

To accommodate this capability, OnePlus has released its Silicon NanoStack technology.Obviously, they protect the anode of the battery with 15% silicon (an industry record), which offers exceptional energy density in the two 3650 mAh cells that make up the battery.

And in terms of results?

- First, a classic streaming test: We released the movie "Nothing New in the West" on Netflix, so 2 hours and 30 minutes of viewing time.Estimate?6% battery loss, which is less than the competition.

- Genshin Effect indoor game with all graphics options maxed out. After an hour of gaming, the OnePlus 15 had only used 10% of its charge.

- Finally, in PCPaku, you get up to 20 hours and still have 20% battery life left!

In short, everything is green, it is a smartphone that will last two days of battery life.

I would like to point out that our tests are done at 250 nits.Better results can be achieved with adaptive brightness.

Finish in 39 minutes flat

Another aspect of this autonomy is charging. Because even when you (finally) manage to drain this colossal battery, it's a matter of minutes to get started.

The group of 15 is compatible with the 120W SuperVooc Wared charger. In our test, it takes close to 40 minutes to recharge the 7300 mah.

For those who prefer freedom, the device also supports 50W Airvoooc wireless charging.

And since we're talking a lot about gaming in this test, we'll add that the OnePlus 15 comes with a charge override system.Turn it on and the phone will run directly from the outlet without charging the battery. The benefit is twofold: it significantly reduces heat during gaming sessions and preserves the health of the battery in the long run. What's more, the OnePlus battery aims to retain more than 80% capacity after 4 years of use.

OnePlus 15 Price and Availability

OnePlus 15 has been launched in two versions:

- OnePlus 15 256 GB for 979 euros

- OnePlus 15 512 GB, 1129 euros

This is good news for the former, less good news for the latter. It's really a strange choice, but it loses 50 euros in the basic model, and for more storage space, the OnePlus 13 has to pay 50 euros more than last year.

If 256GB is enough for you, this is a great choice for new generation smartphones.
